PGA star Sait Tigala's fiancee feuds with SportsCenter host over 'awkward' interaction

We’ve got drama between PGA Tour star Sait Thigala’s fiancée, JuJu Chan, and ESPN SportCenter host Gary Strijewski.

Like this. What a way to start July. You never know where this work will take you. Always turn your head!

The controversy stems from an incident that occurred last weekend during the Travelers Championship. Strevski saw Chan at a local coffee shop and recognized her from her very active social media account.

Chan has 47,000 followers on Instagram and another 69,000 on TikTok and posts frequently.

In any case, according to Strijewski, the SportsCenter anchor sat next to Chan while Tigala ordered coffee and simply whispered to her, “Has anyone noticed you yet?”

She answered briefly: “I think now.”

Take a look:

Of course there are two sides to every story

“It was weird,” he said of the interaction. “Again, I understand people want to be left alone, people don’t want to be bothered. But if you’re a person who outwardly lives your life on social media, and someone recognizes you on social media… it was weird.”

So that’s one side of the story. Apparently Chan replied her side that is dramatically different. She called Strevsky “extremely unprofessional” and said he was painting a false narrative with his version of events.

“I felt bad about the comment, but I also tried to laugh it off,” she said on TikTok. “The interaction he explains did not happen the way he says it did. For me, what he said was strange. I responded lightheartedly and laughed, saying, “I guess now.”

“That was the end of the conversation. It was a three second interaction. I think it’s extremely unprofessional, given his line of work, to take this three-second conversation online and encourage people to hate me.”

So what is our position on this issue? Let’s start with the fact that this is all stupid. Are we arguing about interaction in a cafe now?

Lord, do we really need to bring back football in its worst form? This is a real Dog Days of Summer thing. Today we’re diving into our bag of tricks for creating content. Sometimes you just have to play the hand you’re dealt. Well then.

At the same time… Here I will be on Chan’s side. And I’ve really liked Gary Strijewski since he was a Red Sox reporter on NESN. He’s also very good on the 8 o’clock fall SportsCenter that leads right into College GameDay.

But it felt strange to say this to someone. Let’s just call it like it is. Strange. Strange. Like…sad?

It’s even weirder to run to TikTok to make a video about it. This is school stuff. Children’s things. Let’s be adults, please. This time.

“This guy should never have put you in this position,” Chana Thigala commented on the post. “I love you so much and am incredibly proud of how you handled this, my queen. I see how kind and caring you are to everyone who communicates with you, and people close to us know your true, incredible essence.”

This concludes the stupid summer story of the day.

Fifty-eight days until the college football season.
