Series History

Saturday’s meeting will be the 37th all‑time encounter between the Gamecocks and Wildcats. South Carolina holds a 22‑13‑1 edge in the series, which dates back to their days as former SEC East rivals. Notably, the Gamecocks have won the last four meetings, a streak that began in 2022.

The historical advantage adds an extra layer of motivation for South Carolina, which hopes to extend its recent dominance, while Kentucky looks to end the skid and assert itself as a rising force in the conference.

Key Players to Watch

South Carolina: The Gamecocks will be without defensive standout Dylan Stewart, who serving a suspension for a conduct violation during the loss to Alabama. Nevertheless, the offense looks to its experienced quarterback and a balanced rushing attack to spark productivity.

Kentucky: Entering the game on a two‑game winning streak, the Wildcats’ offense has been steady, led by a dual‑threat quarterback and a receiving corps that has found the end zone consistently. Defensively, Kentucky aims to capitalize on South Carolina’s recent struggles against the pass.

Special teams could also play a decisive role, as field position often proves critical in tightly contested SEC battles.
