Bob McIntyre (Scotland) this week took third place with a score of under thirteen.
“Yes, it’s been a good week overall,” he told BBC Scotland.
“I saw the positive side of it: it was a good week, third place.
“I have a chance, I’m going out today, I have a chance to get into the back nine, although it was a bad start.
“It wasn’t meant to be, but again, just look at the positives, try to embrace the positives. It’s a good week, third place.”
“I’m in a good position (heading into the Open).
“I didn’t hit as well as I wanted this week, didn’t hit the shots I expected to hit, like the one on 18.
“I mean, I’m standing over this thing, but I don’t have a single thought other than the ball going into the hole.
“Just because of the way I usually hit it, the way I roll it, but I just got it wrong.
“Golf greens are tough, greens are so thin, and yeah, that green just didn’t move as much as I thought it would.”
