With all due respect to football and baseball, there is nothing more American than winning a NASCAR race on the Fourth of July weekend.
I know the show isn’t what it used to be – God knows you guys tell me that all the time – but here’s something… never change. And NASCAR, the most pro-American sport on the planet, is one of them.
Chase Briscoe won the series return to Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday night, and he did it in a red, white and blue Bass Pro Shops Toyota.
DALE EARNHARDT JR. NASCAR CAME BACK TO LIFE 25 YEARS AGO THIS WEEKEND, BUT THE PAIN IS BACK
Which would I prefer: Ford or Chevy? Certainly. But beggars can’t be choosers. He won, it looked incredible, and Briscoe made it clear that he loved this great country after a game of checkers. You will see.

What else should we talk about today? Dealer’s choice. I’m finishing up the holiday weekend, so I’m in a good mood!
How about Austin Hill channel his inner Kyle Busch and pay back Shane Van Gisbergen in Kyle’s old RCR Chevy? Not sure Hill is watching big here, but I still appreciate the effort.
I also have Bubba Wallace’s Fourth of July message dividing fans (amazing!), the fight that broke out behind TNT’s NASCAR broadcast after the race (I use that term loosely), and our newest Cup winner, Corey Heim, turned 24 over the weekend, so we’ll check in on him and Taylor Reimer on the way out.
But mostly Taylor. Too much time has passed.
Four tires, enough fuel to get them out of crime-riddled Chicago safely and maybe avoid getting shot, and maybe some good old Foster for SVG and Austin Hill to get it sorted out…Monday Morning Pit Stop – “Happy Birthday America!” edition – LIVE!
Chase Briscoe shows us the right way to win a NASCAR race on America’s 250th Anniversary weekend.
Listen, we won’t talk or fight today. We finished well last night, but the race itself wasn’t the best I’ve ever seen. So, #content isn’t exactly flowing today.
We’ll get down to business, celebrate this great country, and then move on with our weeks. Sounds good?
Good!
Chase Briscoe won for the first time in 2026, hanging on for dear life as Christopher Bell was coming. If this race had lasted another mile or two, I think we have a different winner today.
Fortunately, this was not the case. And instead of Christopher Bell in Victory Lane we got THIS:
SVG vs. Austin Hill isn’t quite Bobby vs. Cale
“I feel so American winning in a Bass Pro Shops Red, White and Blue Fourth of July weekend 250 car. God, what an incredible race car,” Briscoe said after the race, then exuded even more patriotism in the media center.
“I feel like this is the most American feeling I’ve ever felt in my life,” he continued. “Just the whole Bass Pro Shops group. This is a huge thing, obviously they are so good at proud to be an American. “Winning this weekend means a lot to all of us.”

Lordi. Not that they need advertising, but if you haven’t shopped at Bass Pro stores yet, maybe stop by today and pick up some for yourself.
Plus, they have an incredible aquarium at the back that is mesmerizing.

As for Briscoe, he’s not done shoving NASCAR’s big weekend down liberals’ throats:
Pro-American and Divine? I mean, did Chase Briscoe do it or what? Prayer before the race, prayer after the race and praise for America?
Maybe NASCAR is back? I don’t know. I feel something right now. I feel a tingling sensation. Stay tuned!
OK, let’s go back on track and meeting Austin Hill, now in Kyle Busch’s updated No. 33 Chevy, and SVG.
Austin destroyed (allegedly) SVG a few weeks ago in San Diego, and it looks like Shane (allegedly) retaliated in Chicago:
More fighting, birthday message for Bubba and Taylor too.
Well… thoughts? First impressions?
I think Austin Hill might have a problem here. I think he was all was well until the very end, when his team ordered him to take the car to the garage and stay on the apron, only for him to slide off the track and ram the right front of the SVG.
A couple of small radio nuggets:
- “Just wait,” he says after crashing, which was ominous.
- “Don’t talk about it,” his crew chief (or spotter) responded. Remember, we learned earlier this year that NASCAR won’t do anything unless you incriminate yourself on the radio.
- That’s why SVG didn’t say anything other than “still a little tense” after he destroyed Austin. Veteran move by SVG. You have to respect that.
- Richard Childress went on the radio and said the crash was outrageous. It was, but I’m afraid NASCAR won’t see it that way. Let’s see.
- “He’s just grunting” is an insult I’ve never heard before. Interesting.
Okay, a couple of quick ones on the way out. At first? If you thought everything What The fight was good, wait, look what happened after the race:
Incredible. A completely real fight between two completely real and completely sober guys. God, I love this country. Absolute patriots.
Accidental strike. Belated spit. Stamping. All this was at the highest level. What a fan base. What a series.
Next? What is our position on Bubba Wallace’s Fourth of July message? Some fans are excited about this for various reasons:
250 years. This country is beautiful, complex, and a work in progress. It’s a huge privilege and that’s what makes it so great. The freedom to use your voice, challenge the status quo, and the responsibility to shape the future can easily be taken for granted. You don’t have to agree with someone to have the same pride in the country we share. Real progress happens when we understand that maintaining unity is more important than our differences. USA!

I think it’s ok if it’s worth it. Now the only problem I see is the predictable “Happy Birthday America BUT…” structure that Bubba used here.
“This country is beautiful, complex, and work is still ongoing.” Could he have just stopped at “This Country Is Beautiful”? Certainly.
Fans were surprised to notice:
Yes. Not great! Again, I have no problem with 99% of them. Honestly, it could have been a lot worse. God knows, we’ve seen worse.
A decent amount of the comments were positive, which is an anomaly when it comes to Bubba’s post about anything especially the USA A.
- You have done and said many things that I believe are wrong. But this one? Bubba, you did it. Happy fourth, sir!
- Well said and not too agenda driven. You are a great father and I am very proud of you for growing up in this sport and developing into a leader.
- Amen brother! Happy fourth, Bubba!
See? It’s not all bad! However, this one was definitely my favorite. Are you ready for a wild ride?
I don’t think the 4th of July should be celebrated. It’s really white people’s freedom, that’s all. I celebrate Juneteenth because it is true freedom for all, but I understand what you are saying. I am Black and Native American and my family has suffered greatly from this country.
Yes, these people really exist and they are incredible. Imagine, just for a second, waking up and actually thinking about this? Can you imagine how miserable this existence must be?

Not me. Not you. We are all sane. Like Chase Briscoe, we love this great country.
Now take us home, Taylor Reimer!
