The next time you open the Google Play Store, it might look a little different than you remember. Two main sections of the market have received a new look. And it looks like the redesign is starting to spread widely.

The update only affects the Games and Apps tabs, as the Books tab still uses the old UI. Speaking of the old UI, you can see an example in the two screenshots below. At the top you will find tabs for “For You”, “Top Charts”, “Children” and “Categories”. The Games section also has a Premium tab. Below is a header area with an app carousel, followed by a list of apps.
In this redesign, you will notice that all tabs are now located in pill-shaped containers. Clicking on “Top Charts” or “Categories” will now open a separate page and you will need to click the arrow in the top left corner to return to the home page. The For You tab has also been removed, as it now serves as the default home page for the Games and Apps tabs.
We were also informed about a new change to the Google Play Points user interface. Previously, your Play Points were displayed in a blue pill-shaped container at the top of the page. In the screenshot above, on the far right, you can see that Google has removed this container. It looks like the company has also introduced a new style of icon notifications.
⚠️ An APK parsing helps predict features that may appear in a service in the future based on unfinished code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to the public release.
