PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2026: Predictions, Rumors, Leaks and More

July is almost here, and with it comes another round of free PS Plus games for Sony fans. We had some good months in 2026, so hopefully this trend will continue.

Read on to find out everything you need to know about July’s Essential games lineup for PlayStation Plus, including leaks, rumors, reveal times, and release dates.

Last year’s PS Plus July lineup included:

  • Diablo IV
  • King of Fighters XV
  • Jusant

Be sure to try the puzzle/post-apocalyptic game Jusant if you get the chance. This is really good.

What is PlayStation Plus and how much does it cost?

PS Plus is Sony’s monthly membership program that provides access to online games. You won’t need it to stream movies or TV shows on Netflix and other services, or to play free games like war zone or Fortnite. However, any paid online games require a subscription.

There are three levels of PS Plus: Essential, Extra and Premium. The premium version comes with the most benefits, including the largest catalog of games and classic games from older consoles such as PS2, PS3 and PS4. PS Plus Essential costs $10.99 per month or $79.99 per year; PS Plus Extra costs $16.99 per month or $134.99 per year; PS Plus Premium costs $19.99 per month or $159.99 per year.

For the purposes of this post we will We’ll only be discussing the three free monthly games coming to PS Plus Essential in July.. The Extra and Premium editions will be released midway through their release month. Essential editions are free for all tiers.

When will Sony release PS Plus games next month?

Sony usually releases the next month’s games on the last Wednesday of the month, although this is not always the case. The actual rule of thumb is that a new lineup is (almost) always released on the first Tuesday of the month, and games are published on the previous Wednesday.

This means we’ll hear about July games on Wednesday, July 1st, and the games will be available on Tuesday, July 7th. Until then, you need to download this month’s free games.

There haven’t been any credible leaks about the July PS Plus lineup so far, and none of the new releases coming out on July 7 look like they’ll be included unless Sony releases a “Revelations” expansion for DOOM: Dark Ages, which I doubt. There are no rumors, leaks or safe bets to rely on, although I will update this post if anything changes. For now, let’s move on to the predictions and wish list.

PS Plus July 2026 Predictions and Wishlist PS Plus Games

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Some of these are more likely candidates than others, and some of them are obviously just wishful thinking. Most of them are left over from past prediction lists as they haven’t been selected yet!

Horizon Zero Dawn Update – This is a modern classic open world adventure game about fighting giant robot dinosaurs in a post-apocalyptic future. This seems like a perfect candidate for a PS Plus title since the remaster came out two years ago.

Atompad – The first-person survival game, set in an alternate history of 1960s Britain following a nuclear holocaust, is a top pick for many PS Plus hopefuls. However, it wasn’t released until early 2025, so it’s fairly new for PS Plus. Again, we saw faster results (Dragon Age: Guardian of the Veil For example).

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition – Two reasons for this. Firstly, the anniversary edition and the second season of the excellent Amazon series have been released. Fall out The series is currently airing. Some kind of Fall out the release makes sense.

Send – An absolutely wonderful, interactive movie-style superhero game that combines great animation, incredible writing and acting with a fun superhero management simulator.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The excellent medieval RPG is many years old, and the sequel has just been released. Why not release the original on PS Plus? Well… I guess because it was a PS4 era game. But they could release a sequel!

Blue Prince – One of my favorite games of 2025, it would make a great indie game to complement several larger releases. What a real gem.

Remake of Resident Evil 4 — A remake of the popular 2005 horror film was released in 2023 and received a wide response. It’s old enough to qualify for a PS Plus release and will definitely be a crowd pleaser.

Elden Ring – FromSoftware’s mega-hit RPG will be a huge win for Sony and PlayStation Plus gamers. Even Remake of Demon Soul would be a huge win, although I put both of these events in the “wishful thinking” column. Still, Elden Ring might make sense given the recent release of a standalone multiplayer spin-off Night rain.

Star Wars criminals – Ubisoft open world Star wars the game wasn’t the hit they wanted it to be, but it’s still a pretty fun way to travel to a galaxy far, far away and rub elbows with scum and baddies. This would truly be the perfect PS Plus release.

Deadly Stranding – Hideo Kojima’s strangest game was successful enough to warrant a sequel, and that sequel wasn’t released until 2025. It makes sense to release the original on PS Plus at some point, if only to attract more people to the newer (and more expensive) sequel.

Street Fighter 6 – The popular fighting game franchise continues to be a crowd pleaser, and releasing this 2023 game on PS Plus would be fun despite the fact that the fighting game arrived last month. This makes me doubt we’ll see this game, but I would play it if Sony released it.

Cocoon — Indie developer Jeppe Carlsen (Limbo, Inside) released this innovative and unique puzzle game back in 2023 to stellar reviews. It’s been on the wish list of various PS Plus players for a while now and will definitely be the little game that will delight gamers come August.

Squirrel with a gun – As the name suggests, this is a small game where you play as a squirrel with a gun. It’s the sort of indie game that often accompanies larger AAA releases in the PS Plus lineup.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage — Release of free Assassin’s Creed the game makes sense if Black flag a remake is on the horizon. Make people care about the re-release. Of course, it has already been added to Extra and Premium.

Trine 5 – I used to love it very much Trine games. I remember playing them with my kids when they were little. The amazing graphics in these games as well as the couch co-op made them so much fun. Then I forgot about them and actually never played the fifth game. Although I would really like to. It will be super nostalgic for the whole family. So I hope!
