I think I packed perfectly. Sometimes when you go on a guys’ vacation, it’s easy to just pack sweatpants, workout tops, and golf clothes, but when you go out to dinner, you don’t feel like you’re making an effort to look presentable. But on this trip, when I turned 30, I bought some nice outfits, and when we all went out to dinner, we were dressed in nice clothes, which was really cool. It ended up being an amazing week.
What is your daily routine on a flight? What do you always have with you for fun?
I’m an absolutely terrible pilot. I get very nervous when flying; Now I can’t sleep on planes at all. I usually try to take a morning flight so I can work while I’m on the plane, because if I get red-eye thinking about sleeping all night and going to work the next day, that’s just a disaster. I’ll catch up on emails and work on the morning flight.
If I’m on an overnight flight, I’m very strict with myself, I don’t have caffeine. I don’t eat before continuing. I try not to watch TV; Instead I read a book or something. I’ve also found that I’ve stopped watching movies on planes, and instead I just download something on my iPad and watch what I want.
Have you found any cure for jet lag?
It’s interesting that you ask this question now that I’ve just turned 30. Over the past few years, I’ve really noticed how much jet lag affects my daily life. When I was in my early twenties and I was doing Spider-Man movies and I was jumping back and forth from America to the UK all the time, it never affected me, I was completely fine but now I can’t function for days so I’m going through a research phase on how to cope with jet lag and I haven’t figured it out yet.
What’s your go-to snack on long travel days?
I really love microwave popcorn. Last night I went to the cinema and watched an amazing film. Obsession. I had a big box of popcorn and it didn’t taste good. I really like Skinny Pop – it’s good. In my opinion, it will fill you up without you eating too much food. This is the perfect airplane snack.
Do you have a favorite travel outfit that you can fly in?
I have a very handy Vuori travel kit that I really like. It’s also very smart looking, if you didn’t feel it, you’d think, like, oh, this person is wearing like suit pants and a smart t-shirt, but it’s all t-shirt material, so I wear this a lot when I travel because I think I like to look stylish at the airport, you know. I think it’s very cute.
