Jai Arrow may be about to throw the “world’s biggest birthday party” but nothing compares to the gift he received early this morning.
Arrow, who retired from the NRL in May after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease, married his partner Berina Colakovic in an intimate ceremony in Sydney on Sunday. The couple has since posted photos of the “elopement” on their social media accounts, which included daughter Ayla Rosa.

The couple tied the knot after getting engaged in Italy in 2024.
“We did the job 💍!” Berina reported this on Instagram. “I don’t know how much Italy will top this event, but we can’t wait to celebrate with all our family and friends 🫶.
“A special thank you to our family friends The Beat’s for witnessing our special day and watching over our little angel.
“I’m in awe of how wonderful the people are, thank you to Maddie, Lucy, Jazz and everyone who gave up their time to make this elopement special.”
The couple wore Australian brands for the occasion, tagging Rachel Gilbert Bridal and MJ Bale in their Instagram announcement. The bride is believed to have chosen the $1,200 Sergio Sleeve Mini, which the designer describes as a blazer-style dress with a crisp silhouette. Colakovich paired the dress with floral tights.
Several friends, including from the rugby community, posted their congratulations on social media.
The Rabbitohs and the NRL have planned a series of events in July to support Arrow’s battle with motor neurone disease, with the centerpiece being his 31st birthday celebration on Sunday.
