Negotiations between the Trump administration and Iran continue
The conflict in the Middle East is becoming increasingly complex. On February 28, the United States and Israel jointly went to war with Iran. The truce came into effect in mid-June as part of a framework agreement between the United States and Iran. At the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump finally announced that the framework agreement had ended. Trump said he no longer wants anything to do with Iran. The reason for this was probably the dispute over the Strait of Hormuz.
But the president has left the back door open: He will allow his negotiators to continue talks with Iran if they wish. Mutual attacks have been taking place between the conflicting parties for a long time now. At the same time, efforts to resolve the fighting continue. “The United States remains committed to the solution and technical discussions are ongoing,” a US government spokesman told the German Press Agency.
