“My age spots are gone”

Debbie McGee says she has the confidence to go makeup-free after a high-tech skin transformation – and believes she looks better now than she did in her 40s.

Debbie, 67, says her makeup removed dark spots she had covered for years with foundation. Sharing her results, ex Dancing under strict arrival The contestant says she is surprised that at my advanced age she is the “proud owner of a clear-skinned face.”

Debbie, who rose to fame as magician Paul Daniels’ assistant and then wife, says she was always afraid to try beauty treatments. (“I’ve never, ever had any treatments. I haven’t even had a facial.”) However, she was convinced to reconsider her decision after seeing the results her friend Christine Hamilton and Shirley Ballas achieved with NeoGen Plasma.

Debbie says that before starting NeoGen Plasma treatment, she was self-conscious about her pigmentation.

Looking at NeoGen before and after photos, Debbie says she’s impressed by how the treatment has improved the visible signs of sun worship in her younger years. “I don’t expect my skin to be perfect, but I actually think it’s better now than when I was probably in my 40s because it’s a lot smoother,” she says.

Debbie, 67, says her skin looks better than it did at 40.

“The biggest thing NeoGen has done for me is that I don’t wear makeup anymore,” she says, speaking on set at the Oxfordshire house where she lived with Paul until his death in 2016.

“I had to put something on today because there’s a lot of lighting and recording things, but in everyday life it’s given me a confidence that I didn’t have before because I feel much more natural.”

Debbie says her main motivation for using NeoGen was to address a pigmentation issue she had become increasingly self-conscious about. “I had a big brown age spot,” she explains. “There were two, they kind of covered that part of my cheek. I always had to cover it up with makeup, and if I didn’t, people would say, “What is that?”

With my autobiography, Magical life This October, Debbie decided it was time to finally do something about it.

Before NeoGen, Debbie had never undergone cosmetic procedures.

Debbie says her results exceeded her expectations. “It actually didn’t just get rid of this unsightly brown double mark that I had,” she says. “I had a lot of little freckles because I was a sun worshiper when I was young. They’re all gone.

“I used to look at people on TV and in photographs and think, ‘They have such clear skin. Mine will never be like that because I have all these tiny brown freckles.” But Neogen got rid of them all,” she says. “It’s actually changing my life.”

How is Debbie’s treatment going?

Over the past year, Debbie has been undergoing a series of NeoGen Plasma treatments with aesthetic nurse practitioner Jenny O’Neill at the Aspire Clinic in Reading, the same clinic where Christina Hamilton was treated.

Jenny explains how he treats age spots. GC“Pigmentation and age spots are some of the most difficult problems to treat because excess melanin can be found at different depths of the skin. NeoGen converts medical-grade nitrogen gas into plasma, evenly distributing controlled thermal energy across the surface of the skin and deeper layers of the dermis. The treated tissue remains intact and then gradually peels away, taking away the pigmented cells and revealing fresh, newly regenerated skin underneath.”

NeoGen’s controlled thermal injury also encourages the body to produce more collagen and elastin, helping skin appear tighter and firmer. Jenny adds: “The skin is not just cleared of pigmentation – it is actively rebuilt from the inside.”

According to Debbie, it was made just for her. “The amazing thing about Neogen is that it not only gets rid of all your blemishes, but it also affects the quality of your skin, the texture of your skin and its appearance,” she explains. “You have the treatment, you take a break for a while, briefly, and then over the course of a few weeks, your skin continues to improve.”

In Debbie’s case, it also helped get rid of wrinkles on her upper lip. – I still have it. I don’t want to get rid of them. This is my life. But when I look at how I look now, they are almost invisible.”

Debbie, who was seen with Paul in 2014, usually covered up her age spots with makeup.

What attracted her to NeoGen was the promise of natural results. “One of the reasons I didn’t have any other treatment and went with NeoGen was because I didn’t want people to look at me and think, ‘It’s already worked.’

“But what’s fantastic about NeoGen is that all my girlfriends and a lot of the guys I know keep telling me, ‘Oh my God, Debbie, you look so good.’ But they don’t say, “What have you done?”

Debbie says she chose NeoGen’s low-energy treatments to fit her lifestyle. “You can go for higher-energy treatments and you’ll get results faster, but the more energy you have, the more downtime you have,” she says. “It’s a little awkward. You can numb your face before you do this, which means you will feel virtually no pain. I did it.

Debbie was wary of any treatment that might make her look “outdated.”

Debbie’s treatment costs £4,500, or around £750 each. Debbie says that “sounds like a lot,” but it’s balanced out by “how much I saved by not buying foundation for a year.” It’s much better than spending money on expensive moisturizers. I’ve been there, I’ve done that.”
