Georgia Wareham was also Australia’s ace in the hole, having the highest strike rate of the tournament as well as the second highest bowling economy.
“Wolf (Wareham) was unreal,” Mooney continued.
“There are not many cricketers floating around the world stage with the skill she has and understanding of the game… calmness. So Woolf probably took a little time to create. I think she’s been given different roles along the way, but she’s really come into her own in the number six role, especially with the bat, and also just nailing the ball.
“She’s an all-rounder—Wolf—bat, ball, field, great temperament, great person. So another player who is probably the envy of world cricket and she is in our team. So I’m very lucky that I get the best seat in the house and behind the stumps when I’m holding on and obviously seeing her do her thing with the bat. So hopefully she has another very good game and she can get us on the right side of the result on Sunday.”
