NEW YORK — Major League Baseball’s earliest opening day next year will be March 24, excluding any international games — if opening day happens.
MLB said Thursday that the 2027 season will begin with a single game, which Netflix will air that evening. No teams have been selected.

The baseball player’s employment contract expires on December 1, and a management lockout is expected. In 2022, an agreement was not reached until March 10, resulting in the opening day being moved from March 31 to April 7.
The All-Star Game will take place on July 13 at Wrigley Field in Chicago, followed by a weekend of competition.
The regular season is scheduled to end on September 26.
The Athletics are scheduled to play the majority of their home games in West Sacramento, Calif., for the third straight season before moving to a new stadium in Las Vegas. They will play at Triple-A Las Vegas starting May 31 against San Diego and Cincinnati.
With no labor contract in place for 2027, no international games are scheduled.
