A Delhi-based Wipro employee has gone viral after he shared an emotional video of how he was fired after working for over five and a half years at the IT company. While she admitted the experience was heartbreaking and filled her with uncertainty, she said she believes it could ultimately be a “sign from God” to move on. In a video posted on Instagram, Anukriti Vidyarthi, who worked as a marketing and communications coordinator at Wipro AI Solutions, said she was fired on June 29 after what she expected was a routine meeting with her manager and an HR representative. Instead, she was informed that her role had become unnecessary.
“I’m unemployed. Today June 29, 2026, I received a call from HR and manager who told me that my position was redundant and I was asked to leave the company. A company I worked for for about five and a half years,” she said.
According to her, the sudden announcement came as a shock, especially after she spent so many years in one organization. Like many long-term employees, she said the company has become a familiar part of her daily life, making the transition even more difficult.
Vidyarthi said she now faces an uncertain future and is not sure what will happen next. She wondered if she would find another corporate job or if she would finally decide to create something of her own. “I don’t know if I can do it or what I will do if I start something of my own. I have no idea. And I never thought that I would be here at this stage. But that’s how it is,” she said.

She also admitted that one of her biggest fears is losing the financial security that comes with a regular salary. “I won’t get paid every month, no matter what. Maybe I’ll earn less, maybe I’ll earn more, I don’t know,” she added.
Despite the uncertainty, Vidyarthi said she is trying to view the setback in a positive light. She believes that the dismissal could have happened for some reason, explaining that she probably would never have resigned on her own initiative.
“Maybe this is a sign from God because I feel like I could never do the job on my own. So God said, “Brother, get out of here, you are enough.” (I never thought I’d be here at this point… But I… Maybe it’s a sign from the Gods because I don’t think I would ever leave this job alone),” she said, suggesting that getting fired could be the push she needs to start a new chapter.
Her candid video resonated with thousands of viewers online, receiving support from people who had gone through similar experiences. Many noted that layoffs are becoming more common in the corporate world and urged her not to lose hope. Others encouraged her to view failure as an opportunity, some suggested she consider starting her own business, and several users shared stories of rebuilding their careers after unexpected job losses.
