A Jacksonville staple since 2012, Maple Street Biscuit begins a new era with Biscuit Belly taking over.
JACKSONVILLE, FL. The Jacksonville restaurant chain is entering a new chapter.
The Maple Street Biscuit Company was sold by Cracker Barrel to Biscuit Belly of Kentucky. Although the name will change over time, the original San Marco location, as well as the Point Meadows and Fleming Island restaurants, will remain open.

The chain first opened in San Marco in 2012 as a single cookie store and later expanded to several states.
Now under new ownership, the company says customers can look forward to a new menu and dining experience as the transition begins.
For longtime customers like Jamal, who says he’s been visiting the original location since it opened, the news is bittersweet.
“They used to have this dish with waffles and maple sausage syrup. They’ve taken it off the menu since Cracker Barrel bought it, but if you know, you know,” Jamal said.
Despite this, Jamal believes these changes can open up new opportunities while maintaining what made the restaurant special.
“There is room for growth here. There is room for other people to step in and who knows, maybe we can get the next original restaurant to come into this space and fill it,” Jamal said.
First Coast News Also heard from Biscuit Belly CEO Chad Coulter, who said stores in San Marco, Point Meadows and Fleming Island are expected to rebrand in early 2027.
Customers can expect a menu focused on biscuit sandwiches, expanded lunch options and a wider selection of cocktails as restaurants transition to the Biscuit Belly brand, Coulter said.
