Besiktas wants to sign Arsenal player Leandro Trossard.

Leandro Trossard is set to assess his future at Arsenal after the World Cup.

The 31-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and his newly renamed agency FOKUS is fielding calls regarding the availability of its clients.

Besiktas have made Trossard, who they tried to sign last September, one of their top summer targets. Sources close to the Turkish club say they have already made a verbal offer of up to €20m (£17.25m) for the striker.

If a player states that he is interested in a transfer, Arsenal will consider such a figure to be financially acceptable. For now, Trossard is fully focused on Belgium’s World Cup exploits as they prepare for their Round of 32 clash with Senegal in Seattle.

His team has already made it clear that he doesn’t want to be distracted during the North American tournament.

He would be happy to see out the end of his Arsenal contract but is believed to be realistic enough to know a transfer could well become a reality as the Gunners look for a new left-winger – possibly two.

At this point in his career, he wants to play regularly and also has to consider that his next big contract will be one of his last.

Saudi Professional League side Al Dirayya have also shown interest in the Belgian, but he may yet decide he wants to remain in Europe’s top five leagues.

A number of Italian clubs, including Roma, tried to sign Trossard last year, while Turkish giants Fenerbahce also previously tried to sign the former Brighton striker.

A few weeks ago, Trossard was asked about his future ahead of the World Cup warm-up match against Tunisia.

He said: “I’m still at Arsenal at the moment so I can’t say much about it.”

The striker was then asked if he could stay with the Premier League champions, to which he replied: “At the moment, yes. At the moment I’m still at Arsenal and we’ll see what happens.”

Trossard scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions last season to start the Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest.

He was also in excellent form at the World Cup, scoring two goals and providing one assist for Belgium.

He received a pay rise last summer to reflect his importance to Mikel Arteta’s side, but while changes were made to the terms of his contract, the length of his contract remained the same.
