Actor Jasmin Bhasin flew to Dubai along with Aly Goni to celebrate his 36th birthday on June 28. However, Ali said that she was hospitalized after a serious illness.
Now that the actor is feeling a little better, she took to Instagram to share the news. Revealing her diagnosis, she said she had terminal ileitis, an inflammatory bowel disease.
Jasmine Bhasin reveals diagnosis of terminal ileitis
On Instagram, Jasmine posted a story in which she wrote: “I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to respond to all your lovely messages and posts. This birthday didn’t end the way we expected. Life is very unexpected. I feel much better and should be back soon.” The actress’s voice began to shake as she spoke about how her birthday plans were ruined and she ended up in hospital.
The caption read: “So as soon as I landed in Dubai that day I became seriously ill and had to be hospitalized because I was diagnosed with terminal ileitis and a severe infection and high risk inflammation. But hopefully I will recover soon and return.”

What is terminal ileitis
According to a report published in the journal Gastroenterology Research, terminal ileitis (TI) is an inflammatory disease of the terminal ileum, the third and last section of the small intestine. It may present with pain in the right lower quadrant and may or may not be accompanied by diarrhea. Sometimes this can cause chronic obstructive symptoms and bleeding.
According to the Research Institute, causes of terminal ileitis include:
- Ulcerative colitis (chronic inflammatory bowel disease)
- Intestinal inflammation
- Lymphoid hyperplasia (benign proliferation of normal lymphoid tissue)
- Lymphoma (a type of blood cancer)
- Genetic mutations
- Lesions of the ileum
- NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)
Symptoms may vary between patients and include bloody stools, cramping, lower abdominal pain, malabsorption, diarrhea and weight loss. Only a medical professional can diagnose the disease by conducting special tests.
Aly Goni Happy Birthday Wishes to Jasmin Bhasin
Aly Goni broke the news of Jasmine’s hospitalization on Instagram in his birthday post. He wrote, “Happy Birthday @jasminbhasin2806. We came here to celebrate your birthday, but life had other plans. Instead of remembering birthdays, we are in a hospital room. Seeing you in pain was the hardest part of this trip. I would trade every celebration just to see you healthy and smiling again.”
After some time, he shared another piece of health news. “A message to everyone who writes and calls me! Thank you everyone for the love, prayers and messages. We came to Dubai to celebrate Jasmine’s birthday but life had other plans. She suddenly became very ill and had to be hospitalized due to a serious infection. It has been a very difficult and emotional few days,” the actor wrote on his Instagram Stories.
“I’m really sorry if I couldn’t answer your messages or answer your calls. Right now I’m totally focused on being with her. She’s getting the best care and is slowly recovering. Please keep praying and making duas. InshaAllah she’ll be smiling again very soon,” he added.
