Following a major deal with AMC Global Media, ITV has launched a new dedicated channel designed to bring The Walking Dead universe to UK audiences.
Announcing the news today, ITV has confirmed the launch of a dedicated ad-supported free streaming television (FAST) channel for The Walking Dead Universe (TWDU) on ITVX.
The new channel will launch on ITVX on July 7, bringing UK viewers “one of television’s most iconic franchises through non-stop live streaming.”

Available to watch for free without a subscription, the channel will allow viewers to peek into and discover a vast world The Walking Dead at any time, without having to search for individual titles or manage a watchlist.
To begin with, the channel will launch with franchise favorites. The Walking Dead And Fear the Walking Dead.
This is the latest FAST channel to be added to ITVX’s existing portfolio, which already includes ITV Classics, ITVX Kids and Reality 24/7.
The platform also plans to expand its library of specialist FAST channels with ITV’s flagship programmes, including The only way is Essex, Midsomer MurdersAnd Chase.
It comes a day after news that Sky had agreed terms to acquire ITV in a £1.6 billion deal combining two of the UK’s most recognizable broadcasters.

As part of the deal, ITV and ITVX channels will remain free-to-air and viewers will not need to purchase a Sky subscription.
An official statement explained: “ITV and ITVX channels will remain free-to-air and all public service broadcasting obligations will be retained in full, including regional news and programmes.
“Viewers will continue to enjoy the shows they know and love, such as Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Love Island, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, This morning, Loose women, Lorraine And News at ten – along with major sporting events.”
Walking Dead Universe FAST will be available on ITVX from July 7, 2026.
