After the first match of the five-match T20 series between India and England was called off due to rain, hosts England have won three matches in a row to take an unassailable lead in the series. The fifth and final match of the series between the two teams will now be played at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton. Team India will look to retain their pride with the win, while England will look to bounce back from 4-0 down and reclaim the top spot in the ICC T20 team rankings, a position they have held for the last four years. All eyes will be on the Rose Bowl field, which has so far favored the team batting first.
The Rose Bowl field is suitable for batting.
The batsmen dominated the field at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. In the six T20 Blast matches played in Hampshire this season, the first innings average was 174, with successful defenses of 173, 190 and 200 at first batting. Hence, the toss will play an important role in the T20 match between India and England. In the 13 T20 internationals played at this stadium, the team batting first has won the match nine times, while the chasing team has won only four times. The Indian team has played only one T20 match in Southampton, during the 2022 tour. In this match, Team India batted first and scored 198 runs. England were bowled out for 148 and India won the match by 50 runs.

Important match for captain Iyer
Led by captain Shreyas Iyer, the Indian team played six T20 International matches, losing five of them and one match being abandoned due to rain. Thus, under his leadership, the Indian team was unable to win a single match and also lost two series. If Team India fails to win the final match of the T20 series against England, Shreyas Iyer will face serious criticism and potentially lose the top spot in the ICC rankings.
