There is a fresh wind blowing in Borussia Park! Ruven Schröder has already put things in order in the coaching staff, saying goodbye to club icons Oliver Neuville and Guido Streichsbier.
Now it’s the team’s turn. A big surprise at the beginning of preparations: there was no duo with valid working documents, and he should immediately look for a new club. Spotlight on Thomas Tsvankara and Grant-Leon Ranos.
Ruven Schroeder on Grant-Leon Ranos: “There is a market for him”
For Grant-Leon Ranos, the situation is crystal clear. The striker was allowed to look for another club despite having one more season left on his contract. Schroeder found clear words on this matter: “We released Grant-Leon so that he could look for a new club. I think he will definitely find something, there is a market for him.”
Ranos, who arrived from Bayern’s second team three seasons ago, never made a breakthrough at Gladbach. His rentals in Kaiserslautern and Braunschweig were also disappointing. This is reported by bild.de.
Thomas Tsvankara’s situation is even more complicated. The Czech player no longer has any prospects at Borussia; with a sum paid of almost 11 million euros, it is considered one of the worst purchases in the club’s history.
A record of just six goals and one assist in 49 Bundesliga matches speaks volumes. At the moment he is only doing a separate program after adductor surgery, but all signs point to separation. Even his loan spells at Antalyaspor and Glasgow Celtic were not successful after a promising start.
There is simply no free position for Tsvanchara in the current lineup. On the right flank, Frank Honora, Nathan Ngumu and Hugo Bolin are clearly ahead. In the middle attack he also has no chance against Tim Kleindienst and newcomer Isak Lidberg.
If Ruven Schröder manages to receive at least part of the initial transfer fee, this can already be considered a partial success. (red)
