Fuel prices in Germany are rising again. According to ADAC, gasoline and diesel prices have risen for the eighth time in a row, mainly due to rising oil prices caused by the conflict between the United States and Iran. In the Czech Republic, government restrictions also ended and prices rose again.

Fuel prices in Germany have recently risen sharply again. According to ADAC, E10 premium petrol cost a national average of 2.152 euros per liter on Sunday, 1.1 cents more than on Friday. During the same period, diesel fuel rose in price by 1.6 cents to 2.177 euros per liter.
This was the eighth consecutive increase in prices for both types of fuel. Compared to prices two weeks ago, when the situation calmed down somewhat after the end of the fuel discount, E10 is now 13.6 cents more expensive. Diesel fuel even rose in price by 23.1 cents.
E10 approaches record levels
That leaves Super E10 just about four cents below its multi-year high reached around Easter and a good five cents below its 2022 all-time high. According to ADAC, the most important factor is likely to be the price of oil, which has risen significantly since the beginning of the month. If development continues, previous price records for E10 may also be exceeded.

Diesel, on the other hand, is even further from its record: on April 7, the fuel cost a national average of 2.447 euros per liter.
On Monday morning the situation initially improved slightly. At 10am, diesel and E10 were slightly cheaper than at the same time on Sunday. One reason could be the slight decline in oil prices on Monday morning.
Prices are rising again in the Czech Republic.
In the Czech Republic, a government cap on gasoline and diesel prices expired after more than three months. At many gas stations, prices increased only slightly, by a few euro cents, reports the CTK news agency. Experts say slightly higher growth is expected, especially in high-traffic areas such as highway service areas.
The government, led by right-wing populist billionaire Andrej Babis, introduced price caps in early April in response to the energy crisis resulting from the war with Iran. The maximum permitted prices were adjusted daily and were last set at 43.41 crowns, or about 1.79 euros, per liter of gasoline and 42.13 crowns, or about 1.74 euros, per liter of diesel.
Due to relatively low prices, many drivers from the country bordering Germany go to the Czech Republic to fill the gas station. However, customs, tax and dangerous goods regulations must be observed.
