FPL is live: select your 2026/27 squad NOW

The Fantasy Premier League is now live and managers can now see how much each player will cost and build their squad for the 2026/27 season.

Choose your squad NOW

FPL managers returning to the Fantasy Premier League now have the option of getting help selecting their initial squad via the website.

While experienced managers can skip this process and select their lineup as usual, less experienced managers and newbies can answer a few quick questions that will help shape the lineup chosen for them based on their preferences.

For more information, click below and you can also check out our COMPLETE Beginner’s Guide to FPL to help you get started.

With a £100m budget and unlimited transfers until the first game week, you can use the next four weeks to tinker with your selection of potential teams.

Will will be top scorer last season in Fantasy, Manchester City Erling Haaland (£15.5 million) to become his team’s first choice despite becoming the most expensive player ever?

Is he an Arsenal defender? Gabriel (£8m) is a must, even though it’s now £2m more expensive than last season?

Or you’ll go for Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes (£12m), who is the most expensive midfielder in the game.

Here’s everything you need to know, including what’s new in Fantasy 2026/27.

Classic or intramural leagues

Fantasy Premier League allows you to create up to 30 private leagues and join them with your friends.

You can play in classic leagues, where the total number of points determines the ranking, or take part in personal leagues, where managers duel each game week, earning three points for a win and one for a draw.

Position changes

Here, The Scout profiles the 11 players whose Fantasy positions have been reclassified for the 2026-27 season and provides analysis.

LIVE mini league updates

Managers will get a feel for every game this season with real-time league updates and bonus points, with predicted bonus points added to your players’ score after 20 minutes of each match.

Forecast of price changes

This new tool will use official FPL data to track each player’s transfer activity, providing the best possible view of who is likely to rise or fall EVERY DAY at 00:00 UK time.

If you get into the habit of checking Predictor every day during the season, you can stay ahead of the game and ahead of your mini-league opponents.

New ways to view your lineup

Managers can now switch between views of new squads on the Team Selection, Points and Transfers pages to see more information about players at a glance.

See how your career history compares

Now you can find out how your career compares to every other Fantasy manager in the world.

Your 2025/26 campaign may have been a disappointment, but when you add up all the seasons together, will you be in the top half or even the top 10 per cent? Click below for full details.

Changes to the bonus points system

The bonus point system is an important element of Fantasy as it helps determine the distribution of bonus points awarded in each match.

Several changes have been made to the BPS for the 2026/27 season to reduce duplication of defensive contribution points and improve bonus point prospects for goalkeepers, full-backs and attacking players.

Later isolation

The Gameweek “lockdown”, when results become final, will now be later at 09:00 UK time on the day after the Gameweek final match. Previously, this happened an hour after the final whistle of the last Gameweek match.

The extension allows more time for Opta’s post-match review data to be reflected in the bonus points system and protection points. This will help improve the accuracy of the data used in Gameweek’s final results.

What happens to the chips?

The only thing NOT changing this season is the chips: Managers once again have TWO sets to use in the 2026/27 Fantasy season.

Like last season, you’ll have a Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain, and Bench Boost chip to use in each half of the campaign, for a total of eight chips.

You will still be able to make up to five free transfers.

Last season FPL managers were given additional free transfers in December to help them plan for the Africa Cup of Nations, but that will not happen this season as the tournament will not take place in 2026/27.

Game Week Recap Adobe Express

This will be introduced at the end of the 2025/26 season. Managers will be able to view Gameweek Express Reports after the end of each game week. Managers do not need an Adobe Express account to use this feature.

Adobe Express Team Icons

Managers can keep their Adobe Express team icons created last season. If you don’t have one, you can create one for the 2026/27 season, and you don’t need an Adobe account to do it this season.

See: How to Create Your Team Icon Using Adobe Express.

Here are four examples of what team icons might look like.
