Former Japanese tennis player Rika Hiraki has become the subject of a criminal investigation. The police suspect the athlete of involvement in fraud, which, according to investigators, was committed four years ago. She could face jail time.

ATM surveillance footage shows Hiraki, 54, withdrew funds from the victims that same day. Police are also investigating reports from other people who say they transferred money to the same account.
Hiraki’s highest world ranking in singles was 72nd and 26th in doubles.
