Festival-goers should avoid the heat and enjoy the 34th edition of Vieilles Charrues, which starts on July 16th.
Some 280,000 festival-goers are expected to vibrate to the sounds of Katy Perry, Gims, Aya Nakamura and Orelsan from Thursday to Sunday at the Vieilles Charrues festival in Cars (Finistère), with the weather forecast not looking scorching.
The 34th edition of the festival is set to avoid the extreme heat that has hit the west of France in recent weeks. Meteo-France predicts temperatures to be between 25 and 30C, which should be bearable.
“In case of extreme heat, the public is provided with preventive messages, gentlemen, water lances, there are water fountains in the bars, as well as free water,” organizers explained to AFP.
No last minute artist cancellations are announced and once again the big names from one of the biggest music festivals in France: Mika, Nick Cave, Wald, Jean-Louis Aubert, Vanessa Paradis, Interpol, Feu! Chatterton and Biga Ranks round out a top-notch program.
Except for Friday evening, all seats are sold out, say organizers, who warn of a “rise in counterfeit tickets.”

“With the help of AI, people are making their own fake tickets, which are being sold on networks that are completely illegal. There is a large black market, much larger than in previous years,” they warn, emphasizing that tickets are sold “only” on the festival’s website.
This year the World Cup may take place in Vieille Charrue. If France progresses to the final, scheduled for Sunday, “we will organize something,” organizers said without further details. “We have a very high demand for this topic on our social networks,” they noted.
The entertainment department will include a Ferris wheel, a tavern and a summer toboggan run.
