Following England’s defeat to Argentina in the semi-finals and the controversial celebrations for Messi and his teammates, many English fans expressed anger towards their opponents and expressed support for Spain to win the 2026 World Cup.

“They were rude both on and off the field. The fans kept running towards us and constantly taunting us after the match. One English fan I knew was spat on.”
“I spent £4,800 (more than 169 million Vietnamese dong) on tickets for the final, hoping to see England play. If I go, I’ll wear a Spain shirt,” said Andy Barry, 62, a devoted England fan.

Notably, England will play the third-place final against France in Miami (USA) tomorrow morning (2:00 July 19 Vietnam time). Victory would be England’s best result at a World Cup since the 4-2 final against Germany in 1966.
