Drowning in Lanaudiere: a fifty-year-old man died

A man in his fifties died while swimming on Saturday afternoon in Mandeville, in the Lanaudière region.

Police from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called around 2 p.m. go to Chemin des Chutes to help a person with cardiopulmonary arrest.

According to preliminary information, the victim was swimming when people present at the scene tried to save him.

The 50-year-old man was taken to a hospital center where he was pronounced dead, Quebec Security Service spokesman Frédéric Deshaies confirmed.

A coroner’s investigation was launched to establish the circumstances of this event.
