Coronation Street’s Catherine Kelly has earned praise from her co-star Eve Myles for her “extraordinary” performance in The Crow Girl.
The pair share the screen in the thriller, based on Eric Axl Sund’s best-selling Scandinavian novel, as their characters DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Eve) and psychotherapist Dr Sophia Craven (Catherine) hunt a killer.
The first series of the tense drama is currently airing on Channel 5 and the second series on Paramount+, and viewers have been gripped by the “superb acting” and “intense” story.
The stars themselves also praised each other. Catherine told Digital Spy that Eva was “amazing” in the role, while Eva spoke of how “proud” she is of her co-star, who is best known for playing Becky McDonald in the ITV soap from 2006 to 2012.

“I can’t tell you a single scene in which Katherine Kelly isn’t extraordinary,” she said.
“I don’t use that word lightly, but she is extraordinary. Amazing. Brave, ambitious, gentle, beautiful.”
She added that Katherine was an “absolute sensation” in The Crow Girl, which also stars actor Dougray Scott.

The thriller first aired in 2025, and viewers called Jeanette and Sofia’s story a “masterpiece.”
The show’s synopsis read: “When the bodies of unidentified young men, beaten and filled with the painkiller lidocaine, begin to appear around Bristol, the police face mounting pressure and a lack of evidence in their search for the killer.
“As more bodies resurface, including a child missing more than 10 years ago, a killer closes in on the house, beginning a race against time to unravel the web of mysteries,” he continued.
“Dark and engrossing, The Crow Girl is a murder mystery that expertly blends dark themes with sharp, smart writing,” wrote one impressed viewer on IMDb.com.
Another fan wrote: “It’s been a long time since a show kept me glued to episode after episode of television. I watched it in one day and am looking forward to the second season with bated breath.”
Someone else said it’s a “complicated but very smart watch.”
