The seventh and final match of the World Cup in Vancouver has already been scheduled.

Colombia booked their place in the round of 16 on Friday with a 1-0 win over Ghana. The Colombia-Switzerland match will end at BC Place on Tuesday at 13:00.

Based on the FIFA Men’s World Rankings, this is perhaps the most exciting match Vancouver has seen at this tournament. Colombia is currently ranked 11th in the world, while the Swiss are 15th.

Whoever wins on Tuesday will play the winner of the Argentina-Egypt match in the quarter-finals.

This is Colombia’s first trip to the round of 16 since 2018. The last time they reached the quarterfinals was in 2014.

Meanwhile, Switzerland has reached the round of 16 in four consecutive tournaments but has not reached the quarter-finals since 1954.

Colombia is the first South American country to visit Vancouver during the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Switzerland will play their third game at BC Place. The Swiss booked their place in the round of 16 with a 2-0 win over Algeria in Vancouver on Thursday.

Vancouver has sold out all six games it has played and that is expected to continue on Tuesday. Columbia has a large fan base, so expect to see a lot of yellow jerseys in downtown Vancouver in the coming days.
