ChatGPT has been restored after a major outage on Saturday.
Users around the world were unable to log in or download conversations.
The outage began around 5am ET on Saturday (10am GMT).
OpenAI’s status page said the artificial intelligence tool was “experiencing issues” and had an “increased error rate.”
“We have implemented mitigation measures and are monitoring the recovery,” it said.

The outage also affected the OpenAI Codex API and coding platform.
“ChatGPT is not working?” was trending on Google, with over 3,000 users noting on DownDetector that the chatbot was down on Saturday morning.
According to DownDetector, 79 percent of OpenAI-related crash reports involved ChatGPT, 9 percent related to the application, and 8 percent related to Codex.
OpenAI’s status update said it was “fully operational” again just after noon on Saturday.
“We are not aware of any issues affecting our systems,” it said.
