The hunter reportedly confessed to the cat’s owner that he had caught and killed the cat. According to the prosecutor’s office, it was not possible to clearly establish whether this confession took place. At the owner’s request, the hunter gave her the dead cat. The cat’s condition suggested that the man was trying to throw the animal’s body into the pond. At this moment, the GPS tracker was no longer on the animal. However, there is no court hearing. As the Stade prosecutor’s office told PIRSCH, there was a statement from the hunter in which he admitted to committing the crime. In cooperation with the Stade District Court, a decision was made to discontinue the fine proceedings in accordance with Article 153a of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
