Breaking news: MHP leader Bahçeli: NATO is at the dawn of a new era

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli spoke at a meeting of his party group. The main points of Bahçeli’s speech are as follows:

“Ankara is a great symbol of resistance. Ankara was once the headquarters of the resistance, but now it is the place where global security strategies for a new era are discussed. It is wrong to view the NATO summit as a meeting. Today, multi-level security plans have been developed.

Ankara has drawn a compass for global politics. The issues of the war in Ukraine, the problems of Iran and Hormuz, the problems of the Blue Homeland and the problems of a new era in Syria were put forward, as well as a series of agreements worth more than $50 billion.

NATO AT THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA

Türkiye is in NATO not only because of its strategic location; Thanks to her government experience and political will, she became one of the founders of a new era. Today, NATO is at the dawn of a new era. Has the Alliance realized the new era of security? Will he be able to eliminate contradictions such as the hidden embargo and political blockade between the allies? The Ankara summit raised these questions for NATO.

The desire to lift CAATSA sanctions is important. However, the goal is to reverse the erosion of trust caused by the unfair treatment Türkiye has faced over the years. Today, if the combat reserve of the glorious Turkish armed forces has exceeded 80 percent, this is a picture of the disintegration of slavery imposed on our country.

ATTACKS ON IRAN

As the NATO summit continued, Trump said negotiations with Iran were over. Just two weeks ago we said we were happy with the words of the agreement but were approaching it cautiously. We emphasized the binding nature of the agreement between states. The neutralization of the agreement within a month and the bombing of Iran again undermined confidence in the world.

Iranian cities were bombed and Iranian citizens died. Ignoring this fact and regarding the decision of the Tehran administration to close the Strait of Hormuz as aggression would not be a justified approach. Iran has the right to defend its sovereign rights from attack and ensure the security of the nation. No state is obliged to tolerate bombing. Those who expect moderation from Iran must admit on what legitimate grounds they base their attacks on Iran.

The US President’s announcement to terminate the agreement is problematic. The agreement is the obligation of the state, not the individual. When will the cauldron of depression boil again? When will the bomb planted under the negotiating table explode? These questions cannot be left unanswered.

The fact that this statement was made at a NATO summit in itself raises questions. Although commitments to the allies, on the one hand, are accepted, termination of the agreement, on the other hand, will call into question its reliability. Hormuz is a strategic gateway to the global economy, maritime trade and the livelihoods of millions of people.

First of all, the attacks must stop and the agreement must come into force again. The door to peace has recently been opened. The responsibility for eliminating the shadow falling on the world lies with the parties to the agreement. The US must return to its commitments. The passages in Hormuz need to be restored. Türkiye will continue to continue its position in favor of peace, as it does today.

NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE EU

One of the most important topics is the negotiation process between Turkey and the EU. The strategic future of the EU must be discussed again. The problems facing Europe have become too serious to be solved with old knowledge. Europe has reached a new crossroads.

No security equation without Turkey will be permanent. No energy corridor will be sustainable. No stability project will be permanent. This is a strategic reality. Instead of seeing this reality, the EU acts with reflexes that save the day.

This approach has harmed not only Turkey, but also Europe. She has narrowed her own strategic horizon. What did the years of Turkey’s exile bring to Europe? Has my migration crisis resolved or has it intensified? Europe faces strategic uncertainty every day.

The process of Turkey’s accession to the EU is no longer considered under the name of membership. The question is whether Europe can cope with geopolitical realities. Our view as MHP is clear. Turkey’s relations with the EU must develop on the basis of mutual respect and equality. Türkiye does not shirk its obligations and does not seek any privileges. Türkiye only wants to end double standards. Of course, it is important to update the Customs Union, visa liberalization is important. More importantly, however, the EU must abandon its habit of viewing Turkey as a country whose door is knocked on during a crisis. Turkey’s place is not in the EU waiting room, Turkey’s place is to be given the weight it deserves.

The recent statements by Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis are extremely serious. It is irrational and unwise to blame EU security on the political calculations of Athens. No country has the right to put forward its own problems as a common agenda for Europe. Türkiye is not part of the negotiations at the national negotiating table.

However, I want to emphasize here not to limit this debate to Greece or other countries. The intention is greater. This is a test of what position Europe will take in the new world order. Will the EU act with Turkey or with old prejudices? Türkiye is an indispensable strategic reality in terms of security, stability and energy supply for Europe.

COUP ATTEMPT ON JULY 15

Tomorrow is the annual patrol on July 15th in honor of Democracy and Unity Day. July 15 is not the name of an uprising or an overnight coup attempt. July 15 is not just a night of betrayal, when tanks took to the streets and weapons were directed against our people. This is an invasion attempt aimed at destroying the Turkish Republic from within and shackling the will of the Turkish people. We cannot call July 15 a coup. It is wrong to view this only as an attempt at FETO. July 15 tries to defeat Canakkale. The goal of those who failed to achieve the acceptance of Sèvres is to achieve the same goal.

His subcontractor is a treacherous entity called FETO. This evil organization has grown under the guise of education. He facilitated betrayal under the guise of “no.” He infiltrated institutions and pointed a gun at the state whenever he thought he had the opportunity. They abused the position of Turkish soldiers and police and polluted Turkish justice. There was one thing they could not calculate, and that was the loyalty of the Turkish people.
