Is Ariana Grande dating ex Ricky Alvarez again? The pop superstar certainly made us think so by playfully changing the lyrics to his song “Thank You, Next.”
Performing Monday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Grande sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.”
And the crowd burst into joyful squeals.
Her latest lyrical outburst follows a similar edit of the song during her June 26 birthday performance in Austin, which Alvarez attended. People. She sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he still has my back.”
The singer and her former dancer dated from 2015 to July 2016.

EW has reached out to Grande’s rep for comment.
The artist is almost done with her 41 scheduled dates on her 10-city Eternal Sunshine Tour in support of her seventh studio album. Eternal Sunshine from 2024. Her eighth album, Petalscheduled for release July 31st. Grande’s concert on Monday was the first of five planned in New York. The tour ends on September 1 in London.
“We’re happy,” Grande told Billboard about her low-key romance with Alvarez in May 2016. “I’m a very happy girl. I have a healthy life now and I think that’s all anyone wants to know. End”.

Two months later they broke up.
Grande recently dated her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, but they “quietly split” earlier this year after three years together.
