Alan Forrest joins Dundee - Dundee Football Club

Dundee Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Alan Forrest to a two-year contract with an option for a third year.

The winger last played for Heart of Midlothian after leaving the team when his contract expired last month.

Forrest, 29, also played for Livingston and Ayr United, where he came through the academy and became the club’s youngest ever goalscorer after coming on as a substitute on his debut to score in a Challenge Cup tie against Queen’s Park.

The former Scotland U21 international has decided to join the Dark Blues despite a number of other offers from Scotland and England.

Steven Pressley said:

“We’ve been monitoring Alan’s situation for a while now and it’s great that we’ve been able to bring him to Dundee. He has all the qualities we were looking for in his position, such as his one-on-one ability, crossing and ball control, and he works really hard on the ball.”

“Like all of our signings this summer, Alan had a variety of options to consider and it’s great for us that he felt Dundee was the right player for him.

“Alan knows the Scottish game very well. He has been performing well at this level for a number of years and we believe he still has a lot to give.”

Alan Forrest said:

“Once Dundee were interested I thought he was the right guy for me. The way they played last year they could match any team in the league so I’m looking forward to getting started.

“Whether it’s helping with the ball or creating and scoring goals, I want to have as much of an impact on the game as possible. Obviously the competitive games have started so I’m looking forward to getting started now.”

Everyone at Dundee Football Club is delighted to welcome Alan and wishes him all the best at the club.
