A motorcycle accident on the A24 motorway near Neuruppin has caused deep concern. A 16-year-old student driver died on Monday, July 20, after falling during a driving lesson and being run over by a truck. A friend of the late Emmy has launched a fundraising campaign for her mother.
The truck couldn’t avoid it any longer.
The tragic incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. on Autobahn 24 towards Berlin. According to police, the student driver began to swerve as he entered the highway on a wet road and then fell. The next truck could no longer avoid it. A 16-year-old girl was crushed under a truck and died. The 52-year-old truck driver and two passengers in the driving school vehicle accompanying him were taken to hospital for medical treatment. Due to rescue operations and an investigation into the incident, the A24 highway towards Berlin was completely closed for approximately three hours. An expert was called to the prosecutor’s office. The exact cause of the incident is being established.

Moving, fundraising for Emmy’s mother
The news of the teenager’s death caused great sympathy. A friend of the victim has launched a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to provide financial assistance to the grieving mother. “Unbelievable for everyone, but especially for her mother who suddenly has to plan the funeral of her only child,” the donation page reads. The campaign, called “Emmy – Left Us Too Soon,” raised more than 53,000 euros in a short period of time.
