Earlier this year, William celebrated his 95th birthday with his trademark humor, joking on social media: “At 95, I’m still smoking!”

He added some characteristically playful advice for fans: “I learned two things: Never waste a good cigar. Never trust anyone who tells you that you should “act your age.”

The actor consistently defies expectations about aging by staying active through public appearances, charity work and fan events while continuing to connect with his millions of followers online.

Exclusive conversation with HELLO! The actor recently opened up about his approach to death, especially as a working actor and father, to both his daughters and his pet dogs.

“I don’t want to die. That’s my motivation,” he shared about changing his health regimen in recent years. “I’m about 95 years old. Are you kidding? I want to stay healthy and functioning, and I would like to die in my sleep because… I have people I love, my family, my dogs.”

“Animals are central to your life, and dogs live 10 to 15 years,” he continued. “I had two dogs because I feel very strongly that dogs need to have at least one more dog so they aren’t lonely and waiting for you to come home.”

Best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek television series and subsequent films, William has had one of the longest and most celebrated careers in Hollywood.

In addition to the sci-fi franchise, he has starred in T.J. Hooker, Boston Legal, and countless television programs, documentaries, and stage plays.

He also made headlines in recent years by becoming the oldest person in space, flying aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft at the age of 90 – an experience he later described as profoundly life-changing.

Now, nearly three decades after many actors would have retired, William continues to delight fans with his wit, humor and unmistakable charisma.

If his latest Instagram post is anything to go by, the screen legend shows no signs of slowing down.
