At every World Cup, there is always a footballer who bursts into the mainstream in a big way, transcends the sporting sphere and becomes a pop culture icon. It was Norway’s star striker Erling Haaland at the 2026 World Cup.
Haaland’s growing fame also means that a huge amount of attention has been paid to his long-time girlfriend Isabelle Haugseng Johansen. The two met as children in Norway but officially started dating in 2021. They also have a son, who was born in December 2024.

Haaland has been very active on the field during this World Cup as his signature sprint form has gone viral. Johansen also remains active, as evidenced by several posts she shared on her Instagram Story on July 9.
Both show Johansen in the gym. The first is a mirror selfie of her wearing a pink top, red leggings and white shoes.

The second post is a video of Johansen performing a rowing exercise on a cable machine.
Johansen’s work within the ranks is fitting as Norwegian fans are now known for hosting this celebration in the stands during games.
In fact, Erling Haaland made an X-post on July 9th urging people to “Google” his name because it brought up a graphic of Norwegian cartoon characters rowing.
Norway’s next game is the quarter-finals against England on July 11. With Norway arguably the most beloved team at this World Cup (thanks in large part to Haaland), fans around the world will be hoping that Johansen and the rest of Norway’s loyal fans who attended the match in person will have something to celebrate.
