Hamburg (dpa/lno) – Due to the 24th World Triathlon Hamburg, there will be traffic disruptions in the Hanseatic city over the weekend. The first streets will be closed Friday morning from 10 a.m., police said. Both professionals and numerous amateur athletes take part in the sporting event.
Due to the sporting event, traffic disruptions should be expected, especially in the city center and along competition routes. Extensive road closures will be installed in the city center, west of the Outer Alster and in the western part of the city to the corner of Palmeille and Max-Brauer-Allee.
Police advise visitors to affected areas to use public transport, especially the metro and S-Bahn. All other road users are advised to avoid closed areas if possible. During the event, the police will provide information about the current traffic situation via radio stations.
