Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson has shared new details about the creation of Taylor Swift’s wedding dress for her Friday wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.
Presenting the French luxury fashion house’s fall 2026 collection, Anderson spoke with WWD Paris bureau chief Joëlle Diederich about his latest curatorial work and revealed some details about the process of creating the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s wedding dress.

“It was a pleasure working with her. We became very good friends,” Anderson said. “Having someone’s wedding is an emotional thing.” Official photos from the couple’s Madison Square Garden wedding have yet to be released.
The designer brought another striking wedding dress down the runway on Monday, perhaps indicating he’s ready for more custom wedding appearances.

Swift and Kelsey, who got engaged in August 2025, said “I do” at the New York sports and entertainment landmark on Friday after weeks of speculation regarding the location of the singer and Kansas City executive’s star-studded ceremony.
Both Swift and Kelsey wore Christian Dior couture for Friday’s celebration. Swift accessorized her wedding outfit with Cartier jewelry and a pair of custom Christian Louboutin shoes.
On Friday, the couple was joined by a group of dignitaries dressed in monochrome outfits with black ties. Swift’s guests included Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid and Kelsea Ballerini.

By wearing a Dior by Anderson gown on her wedding day, Swift became the first celebrity to wear a couture wedding dress from the house’s creative director of women’s, men’s and haute couture, according to a press release from her publicist Tree Payne.
After Friday’s ceremony, “JUST&T MARRIED!” flashed on the LED screens near Madison Square Garden. Swift and Kelsey opted for a smaller, more intimate wedding party, with Swift naming her brother Austin as her man of honor and Kelsey’s brother, former Philadelphia Eagles football star Jason Kelsey, as best man.
Anderson officially joined Dior as creative director in June 2025, taking over the position vacated by Maria Grazia Chiuri. The couturier previously served as creative director of the Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe from 2013 to March 2025. During his time at Dior, Anderson attracted new ambassadors, including Past Lives star Greta Lee, and debuted a number of women’s spring and fall collections and haute couture curators.
In addition to his work with Dior, Anderson served as costume designer on director Luca Guadagnino’s 2024 films The Contenders and Queer.
