Fenerbahce are becoming increasingly confident of signing Mason Greenwood from Marseille.

The French club are open to a deal for the 24-year-old former Manchester United striker.

Fenerbahce and Roma have been linked with Greenwood all summer.

Both Fenerbahçe presidential candidates declared their interest before the elections in early June.

Fenerbahce now believe they can secure a deal worth around €45m (£38.36m) with Marseille for Greenwood, who has scored 48 goals in 76 appearances in all competitions since he joined them from United in a £26.6m deal in July 2024.

At the time, the Old Trafford team said they had agreed on a “significant sales commission”, believed to be around 40%.

Following an internal investigation, United ruled out Greenwood’s return to the club despite charges of attempted rape and assault being dropped in February 2023.

He subsequently joined Spanish club Getafe on loan for the 2023–24 season.

Greenwood finished second behind Rennes’ Esteban Lepaul in the 2025/26 Ligue 1 standings with 16 goals.

Fenerbahce finished second for the fifth consecutive season in the Turkish Super League and will play Polish side Gornik Zabrze in the second qualifying round of the Champions League this month.
