Arthur Fery celebrates at Wimbledon

Who predicted British wildcard Arthur Fehry would be a Wimbledon quarter-finalist this year? Even the man himself.

Fery, ranked 114th in the world, showed this when he openly expressed his surprise after defeating Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the round of 16.

The 23-year-old will now aim to reach the semi-finals when he takes on Italian number nine Flavio Cobolli on Wednesday.

Cobolli, 24, was runner-up at the French Open last month and, having been a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon last year, has again shown he can excel on grass.

“Arthur still starts as an outsider given the difference in ranking and experience at the top level,” BBC Sport analyst Jamie Murray said.

“But he has proven himself to be a great grass player and asks his opponents a lot of different questions.”

Ahead of the clash on Center Court, BBC Sport examines how Fery beat Cobolli to become only the fifth Briton to reach the final four at Wimbledon since 1968.
