England international Tammy Beaumont has announced her retirement from international cricket.

The 35-year-old will retire after England’s upcoming Test match against India, which starts on Friday, having made her debut in 2009.

She played 11 Tests, 140 one-day internationals and 109 T20s, and her 12 ODI hundreds are an England women’s record.

Beaumont is one of two English women, along with former captain Heather Knight, to score an international century in all three formats.

“Playing for England for almost 17 years has been my greatest honour,” said Beaumont.

“When I fell in love with cricket as a young girl, I had little idea that playing cricket for England was an option, and it brings me great joy to think how many girls and boys have been inspired, especially this summer, and how far the game has come in our country.

“We have always wanted to empower the next generation and it is time for me to pass on that privilege to the next generation of England players.

“This Test match at Lord’s – our first women’s Test at Lord’s – feels like the perfect way to end a career that I never dreamed would be so special.”

Beaumont also confirmed that she will continue to play domestic cricket. She currently plays for The Blaze and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
