Ahead of the 2026-2027 sports season. University of Miami Athletics announced July 1 that Ticketmaster will become the official ticketing partner of the Hurricanes Athletics.
As part of the partnership, fans will be able to buy, sell, transfer and access tickets through Ticketmaster.com, MiamiHurricanes.com and the Miami Hurricanes app. The new platform launched on Monday, July 6, and is focused primarily on football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.
The university said the partnership will provide a more seamless shopping experience and improved fan engagement through Ticketmaster’s digital platform.
“This partnership strengthens our ability to engage our community, enhance the gaming experience and create a sustainable foundation for our future growth,” said UM Chief Revenue Officer Jesse Marks.
Ticketmaster will replace SeatGeek as the Official Partner of Miami Athletics. SeatGeek, which began working with the university back in 2023, integrated the resale ticketing system with Miami’s main ticketing system.
Although Ticketmaster remains the largest ticketing company in the United States, it has faced increasing scrutiny in recent years over its dominance in the live entertainment industry.
In 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice and a coalition of states filed an antitrust lawsuit against Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation Entertainment, alleging that the company maintained an illegal monopoly on the sale of tickets to live events.
Live Nation denied the allegations and continued to fight the lawsuit.
The company has also faced criticism from consumers over service fees and ticket availability, particularly after the highly publicized ticket sale for Taylor Swift’s 2022 Eras Tour, when overwhelming demand caused widespread website outages and prompted congressional hearings.
Despite these controversies, Ticketmaster remains the ticket supplier for thousands of sports and entertainment venues across the country, including numerous NCAA athletic departments such as Oregon, Penn State and Cincinnati.
Ticketmaster said it will serve as a community partner for UM, providing access to Miami sports programs to youth from underserved communities throughout South Florida.
“The Miami Athletics are one of the most storied programs in college sports, and we are proud to leverage our technology, expertise and decades-long presence in South Florida to support Hurricanes fans,” added Ticketmaster Executive Vice President and Co-Head of Sports Clay Luther.
Tickets for upcoming athletics seasons can be purchased immediately after the official launch of the platform.
A new era for the Miami Athletics is dawning. And the 2026/27 season begins not on the field or in the central zone, but with fans filling the stands.
But whether the new partnership delivers the seamless experience the university promises will be up to Caines fans preparing to buy tickets to this year’s events.
