Seven decades of happiness. Billion guests from all over the world. Countless magical memories.
To celebrate welcoming 1 billion guests to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, Disneyland Resort held a ceremony at the Disneyland entrance. For seven decades, the resort has evoked magical memories for families around the world, cementing its legacy as the happiest place on Earth.
Achieving this resort milestone just days before its 71st anniversary shows that Walt Disney’s dream lives on today as Disneyland continues to be a source of joy and inspiration to the world.

Disneyland Resort Celebrates 1 Billionth Guest
An unsuspecting guest and his family were surprised to become the billionth guest of honor at the Disneyland Resort.
Andres Robles of Arizona arrived at Disneyland this morning with his parents Alejandra and Jose Robles, looking forward to a fun day to celebrate his eighth birthday. Unbeknownst to him, they were about to become part of Disney history: they were chosen as the billionth guest of honor to visit Disneyland and California Adventure!

The family was invited to participate in a short ceremony with Disney Ambassadors at Disneyland on the Main Street U.S.A. train station platform, where they had the honor of helping unveil the updated sign indicating Disneyland’s population of 1,000,000,000 people. Adding to the excitement, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse appeared on the platform.

Andres and his parents received a VIP tour guide for the day, which includes a tour of Walt Disney World’s private residence, the newly opened Soarin’ Across America attraction and other special experiences that define a memorable visit to Disneyland.

A global icon of imagination and innovation
“…We believed in our idea: a family park where parents and children could have fun together.”
Walt Disney
Opening in 1955, Disneyland introduced a new concept of family entertainment and began the theme park industry as we know it today.
Since then, Disneyland Resort has welcomed guests from all over the world and has expanded to become a comprehensive, world-class family resort with two renowned Disney theme parks, three hotels and Downtown Disney. Disneyland also served as inspiration for new Disney theme parks and attractions around the world.
Today, Disneyland continues its legacy as a global icon and leader in the entertainment and theme park industries. The resort continues to invest in creativity, technology and innovation to take storytelling to new heights while fulfilling Walt Disney’s vision that “Disneyland will never be completed as long as there is still imagination in the world.”
