Mohamed “Mo” Salah has spent the better part of a decade as one of the most recognizable footballers on the planet. The Egyptian striker, who broke almost every scoring record at Liverpool and led his country to the 2026 World Cup for the first time since 1990, is also one of the sport’s most private superstars, rarely discussing his personal life and keeping his family almost entirely out of the public eye. At the center of this private world is his wife, Maghi Sadek, with whom he lived for more than ten years. Below you will learn more about Magi:
Magee studied biotechnology in school.
Magee was born and raised in Nagrig, the same village where Mo grew up and where the couple still visit for holidays and special occasions. She has a twin sister, Mohab, and two other sisters, Mahi and Miram. Their parents were teachers at the Mohamed Eyad Al-Tantawi School, the same school where Sadek first met the future Egypt international. The story of Magi and Mo dates back to the earliest years of their lives, when they grew up together in the same small village. According to multiple reports, they were a couple long before Salah’s career took him from Egypt to the biggest stages of world football. The couple married in 2013 while Salah was playing for Swiss side Basel.

Their first, Makkah, was born in 2014 and was named after the holy city of Mecca. In an interview with TimeAmid being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2019, Moe said his favorite way to unwind after a game is to spend time with his daughter: “I just live my normal life,” he said. “I stay at home most of the time and don’t like to go out.” Their second daughter Kayan was born in 2020. Both girls often appear on his Instagram profile in candid photos.
Mo has spoken publicly about how his family’s happiness is of paramount importance, which influenced his decision to leave Liverpool in 2025. “They feel at home (here),” Salah said at the time. “They were very happy, (wife) Magee and the kids, they were very happy that we were staying another two years. It feels like home, so everyone was happy.”
She keeps a low profile.

Magi doesn’t fit the typical WAG profile. She prefers to stay away from the public eye and does not maintain public accounts on social media. Despite this, Magee regularly attends his matches for both club and country to support him on the pitch.
