Cricketer Abhishek Sharma approaches Delhi High Court to protect individual rights

Cricketer Abhishek Sharma has approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his personal rights.

The case came before Justice Jyoti Singh today, who asked Sharma’s lawyer to file a supplementary affidavit including relevant screenshots of the disputed content corresponding to the tables mentioned in the complaint.

Mehta’s lawyer went to court on 8 URLs.

After studying the screenshots, the court said that it could not make a ruling in a situation where the disputed links do not match the table specified in the application.

The court clarified that it was not saying that it was not inclined to rule in Sharma’s favor, but that a further affidavit had to be filed.

The case has now been rescheduled for Thursday.

It may be noted that the Court protects the personal rights of political leaders like Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

He also defended the rights of entrepreneur Aman Gupta, Telugu actor Allu Arjun, Malayalam actor Mohanlal, spiritual preacher Aniruddhacharya, singer Jubin Nautiyal, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and actors Kajol Devgn, R. Madhavan and NTR Junior. Actor Salman Khan filed a similar lawsuit.

The coordinating benches also passed orders to protect the personal rights of Art of Living Foundation founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Telugu actor Nagarjuna, Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and film producer Karan Johar.

Notably, the Court also protected the personal rights of journalist Sudhir Chaudhary, who sought damages for the circulation of allegedly misleading videos on social media that were generated against him using artificial intelligence.

The court also granted a John Doe order to protect the personal rights of podcaster Raj Shamani, noting that he is a well-known person in India, especially in the field of content creation.
