Gujarat has received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours and the situation has worsened due to waterlogging in some areas.

Vapi received the highest rainfall of 8.58 inches while Kamraj in Surat received six and a half inches of rain today till 6 am.

Pardi, Umargam, Kaprada and Valsad town Valsad also received an average of six inches of rain, while Surat received an average of five inches of rain.

Thus, normal to heavy rainfall is predicted in various parts of Gujarat in the coming days.

Many parts of Saurashtra also received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Bhavnagar and Amreli received about four and a half inches of rain.

Lathi, Babra and Savarkundla Amreli also recorded an average of four inches of rain.

Apart from this, Bharuch, Dang, Navsari, Rabi, Vadodara, Tapi districts also received heavy rain. Radhanpur in north Gujarat also received more than four inches of rain.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is forecast in parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra today.

Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad and Bhavnagar are on red alert for rain and very heavy rain is forecast there.

Additionally, an orange rain alert has been issued for Amreli, Bharuch and Narmada where heavy to very heavy rain is forecast.

Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Panchmahal and Dahod are also forecast to receive heavy rainfall at isolated places today.

So far, there is no rain warning in the rest of Gujarat.

All anganwadis, schools and colleges in Navsari and Surat were ordered to remain closed today due to heavy rain.

Tomorrow, the 8th, there may be rain in some parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra.

According to the meteorological department, Navsari, Dang, Daman and Valsad are also likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain tomorrow.
