According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for AC Milan forward Rafa Leao after being told the Portugal international is open to a move to the North London club.
Spurs have begun work on a potential deal following initial talks with Leao’s representatives, led by super agent Jorge Mendes, as Roberto De Zerbi continues to build his squad for the new season.
Sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk that during these talks Tottenham were told that Leao was attracted by the prospect of a move to the Premier League and that he would seriously consider a move to Spurs if a deal became possible.
Leao is expected to leave Milan this summer and, as TEAMtalk reported back in May, his representatives have spent recent months auditioning a number of Europe’s top clubs about a possible transfer.
There is also a Saudi Arabian option, with several Professional League clubs competing with it.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were approached as Leao’s camp carried out due diligence on the market, with each club maintaining a long-standing admiration for the 27-year-old.
TEAMtalk understands that all three have expressed interest in the winger, but none have yet made him a priority target as each club weighs up multiple attacking options. This opened the door for Tottenham.

Tottenham are preparing a sensational transfer of Rafa Leao
Spurs are still in the market for a left-winger and while talks for Manchester City’s Savigno continue, TEAMtalk understands Leao has become another high-profile player being seriously considered.
The Portuguese’s profile, experience and ability to change games make him an attractive candidate as De Zerbi looks to add proven depth to his front line.
TEAMtalk understands that Tottenham management are showing real commitment to De Zerbi and the project he is building.
The club have already committed around £185 million to the acquisitions of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali this summer, but they are far from completed.
Spurs are keen to bring in a top-class left winger and are also pushing to bring in a new centre-forward to provide the quality and depth needed to challenge for a top-six finish next season.
Leao is believed to be ready for a new challenge after several successful seasons at the San Siro.
TEAMtalk has learned that new Milan head coach Ruben Amorim has authorized the player’s departure as he begins to reshape the Rossoneri squad ahead of the new season.
The decision further encouraged Leao officials to explore opportunities across Europe. For Tottenham, the deal will be another major announcement during an ambitious summer.
Leao’s willingness to listen to Tottenham’s project is seen internally as a significant boost, although TEAMtalk understands any deal would still require serious negotiations with Milan, who remain determined to secure a big fee for one of their marquee players.
Competition also remains, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona continuing to monitor developments.
