India A 543 for 9 Innings declared (Sai Sudarshan 168, Padikkal 94, Saransh 70*, Jurel 53, Nuvanta 5-159, Sudhira 3-102) and 0 for 36 (Sai Sudarshan 25*, Mohade 11*) Sri Lanka 366 (Arachchige 127, Gurnur 4-77, Saransh 4-92) and 209 (Ashen Bandara 87, Gurnur 6-68, Saransh 2-66) 10 wickets each.
India A won the unofficial Test series 1-0 after defeating Sri Lanka A in Galle. Apart from six wickets in the second innings, Gurnur Brar also took four wickets in the first innings and India A won the match by 10 wickets. When Sri Lanka A began the innings on Sunday morning, they were 177 runs behind India A with the entire team at 209 runs. 10 wickets for 145 runs are the best bowling figures of Gurnur’s first-class career.
When the day’s play began, India A’s score stood at 541 runs for the loss of eight wickets, thanks to B Sai Sudarshan’s 168 runs and half-centuries from Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel and Saransh Jain. Left-arm spinner Keshara Nuwantha scalped Yash Thakur for her fifth wicket while Ruturaj Gaikwad was kept out after being sidelined with an injury on the third day.
After this, Gurnur put even more pressure on Sri Lanka with his bowling A. Thanks to useful innings from lower order batsmen Nuwantha (26), Dilum Sudhira (21) and Asanka Manoj (12 not out), Sri Lanka A managed to reduce the lead but they were unable to gain much of an advantage over India A. Gurnur got his claw out and hunted Sudhira and with the help of the wicket of Dulaja Samuditha, he completed his six-wicket haul. Whereas Saransh took two wickets.
Sai Sudarshan and Aman Mohade reached the target in just 6.2 overs. In this tour, India A also won the triangular ODI series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan.
