Midfielder Tchouameni, for his part, is currently plying his trade at the World Cup with Didier Deschamps’ France team.
Les Bleus are ready to return to action tonight when they take on South American side Paraguay, with a place in the quarter-finals of the tournament on the line.
However, if recent French media reports are to be believed, Tchouameni is unlikely to play any role.
According to a report by journalist Fabrice Hawkins covering the situation for RMC Sport:
“The MRI carried out by Aurelien Tchouameni revealed a minor injury, which is not serious, but requires special vigilance on the part of medical personnel. The midfielder suffered the injury as a result of contact that occurred during training this Friday. Estimated duration of unavailability is 4 days. Staff will monitor his condition daily and will not take any risks.”
