Azzedine Unahi scored a brace and Yassine Bounou made three saves to help Morocco advance to the quarter-finals with a win over Canada.
Both teams played a tense first half, which featured six yellow cards and just five shots.
For the first time since 1966, there were more cautions than throws in the first half of a World Cup match, according to OptaJack.
Morocco opened the scoring early in the second half after Canada’s Luc de Fougerolles received his seventh yellow card of the match.
Achraf Hakimi sent a free kick to Unahi, who fired the first goal of the match into the bottom right corner of Canada’s goal.
Bounou made a diving save to deny Canada’s Tajon Buchanan and preserve Morocco’s lead late in the second half.
A few minutes later, Unahi increased Morocco’s lead with his second goal of the match.
Unahi nearly had an assist on Morocco’s third goal late in regulation, but Soufiane Rahimi’s shot bounced off Canada’s crossbar.
Rahimi converted his next attempt in stoppage time to complete Morocco’s victory.
Canada will be the first of the three host nations to head home, with Morocco advancing to face either France or Paraguay in the quarter-finals.
