Gurgaon Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is trying to raise funds from German financial institution KFW for the purchase of rolling stock, i.e. metro coaches. speaking terms. The rolling stock will be equipped with modern technology. The length of each car will be 19.9 meters, width โ€“ 2.8 meters. The car bodies will be made of aluminum, which will reduce weight and increase energy efficiency. A regenerative braking system will be installed, thanks to which the energy obtained during braking can be reused. The rolling stock procurement process is expected to gain momentum following the completion of financing negotiations between GMRL and KFW. GMRL is making efforts to commence operations of the first phase of the train within the stipulated time frame.

According to information, the entire process will take time as GMRL will announce the tender only after the financial agreement is signed by both countries. Pre-tender meetings were also held with other companies including BEML.
